1. How do you obtain data from our various systems?
The One Model team will work with you to determine the best approach to connect all of your data together taking into account the capability of the source systems, your company’s preferred data integration methods, security and business rules. Most cloud software companies provide an API that One Model can use to manage the end-to-end process of data transfer and ongoing data synchronization. If an API is not available, One Model can work with the vendor or internal IT team to facilitate a data transfer method and approach to ongoing data synchronization. We have worked with hundreds of data sources and can guide you through this process with confidence.
-
2. Can I load my own data into One Model?
Yes, the One Model platform is completely open for you to allow authorized users to load a custom data source (for example, a flat text file or excel spreadsheet) into the One Model database.
-
3. Can you export data from One Model to use in other applications? Can modeled data from One Model be used to feed other systems and processes?
Yes, there are a number of options to export data for use in other applications (e.g. Tableau, Excel, or PowerBI) including downloading a dataset to CSV, scheduling an export, and setting a specific destination (e.g. defined sftp server or specific application integration). A One Model dashboard can also be embedded within another application, i.e. a corporate portal or Intranet, such as SharePoint or Confluence. The One Model platform can be used flexibly to fit in with your company’s technology ecosystem with the aim of maximizing the use of people analytics information to drive better decisions and business outcomes.

4. I’m concerned that our company’s HRIS/talent/other data is not clean. Do I need to have clean data before adopting One Model?
It is important that you build your people analytics practice on the sound foundation of good quality data, but don’t let this concern be a barrier to moving forward with your people analytics journey, One Model can get you going today.
One Model will be able to overcome most data quality issues through its advanced modeling and cleansing framework. One Model’s experienced team will help you identify and solve data quality issues. You will also be able to identify and solve these yourself in many cases by being able to model, visualize, and access the data in One Model. You can highlight where there are specific challenges that should be corrected at the source system.
If the source cannot be updated then the data held within One Model can be scrubbed/updated for accurate analytics and reporting.
-
5. How can we identify data that needs to be manually reviewed, or identify data with potential quality issues prior to moving into production?
Missing or invalid data elements are flagged during data processing and can be summarized on validation reports and dashboards. Often customers will correct invalid records in the source system. These records then fall off the validation report in the subsequent refresh.
In addition to the ongoing validation process described above, your One Model account manager will work through a data validation process for each integrated system.

6. Do you have out of the box metrics, and can they be customized?
Yes! One model provides a full library of standardized HR metrics out of the box designed to answer the key business questions you and your leaders need to know to drive business outcomes. In fact, One Model has out of the box logic for over 500 standard metrics across 14 HR subject areas. Users also have the flexibility to create new metrics within the interface or customize existing metrics.
Like everything in the One Model platform, we provide a compelling out of the box experience, but you also have full control to make changes and additions to match your business requirements. Metric access is controlled through customizable role-based permission settings. The underlying metric tables and data model may also be customized, allowing for essentially unlimited flexibility in metric creation.
-
7. How does One Model support data permissions and security? Can you please explain your data security framework and any relevant certifications?
One Model provides the most advanced role based security framework in the industry. This has been created as part of the underlying fabric of the entire platform. Data permissions and security ensure users only see the data they have permission to see.
You can configure permissions on metrics, dimensions and drill through columns as well as apply rules to specify which detailed records can be accessed by a user. (For example, you could grant a user group the ability to see promotions, but only in their org unit and drill to detail -- but not see a given field when they drill to detail.)
Data access rules can be applied statically (e.g. allow a user group to see all records in “Finance”) or dynamically (allow a user group to see anyone who reports to them). Contextual data access can even be assigned using a slowly changing structure, meaning that it would grant access to leaders based on when people reported to them as teams and structures change through time.

8. Can you query and filter data from multiple systems or domains in one place?
Yes, One Model makes it simple and fast to quickly filter data across multiple categories such as location, division, talent segment, and tenure. One Model provides a comprehensive multidimensional data exploration and analytical capability. One Model’s unique approach is fundamentally different to other solutions and became the foundation for how we named the company.
-
9. Can I customize out of the box views? How easily?
It’s simple; users can be granted application permissions that allow them to build their own dashboards. Also, users can be granted permission to edit dashboards (on a per dashboard level). The capability is incredibly easy to use and requires almost no training to copy, create, modify, and share dashboards.

10. Does the One Model product support drill-down capabilities? Does the One Model product it allow for drilldown to data of the selected employee population segment directly from the dashboard?
One Model dashboards support drill-down and drill-to-detail. For example, users can drill down on views to see a metric analyzed by business unit, then sub business unit, locations etc. Alternatively, users can drill-to-detail to see the person level results behind an aggregate metric. Both options are governed by the security model, allowing you to choose who can do what and where.
This is its standard functionality, which is governed by the security model in case you want to turn it on/off for specific populations or users. This allows for detailed control over what fields are displayed when a user drills to detail.

11. How easy is it to add in a new KPI?
Want to adjust new KPIs, add an additional analytics dimension, or include a new field? No problem. You can configure new, custom metrics directly in the user interface in a few minutes. New dimensions are set up as part of the data processing logic. This can be done by customers with training, but is often a simple support request to our team. Typically 2 - 5 day turnaround.
New fields can be exposed in the application through configuration if they are already in the data model. If not, then the data processing logic needs to be adjusted. Again, can be done by customers with training or as a support item for the One Model team. It’s typically a 2-5 day turnaround.

12. What if we have some additional outside data that requires an ad hoc integration? Can we add that in as well and blend it with the core HR data already in there for additional insights?
Yes! This is absolutely supported and expected as part of a project. One Model is designed to integrate all your HR data as well as related tools and systems. This can and does include surveys, compensation benchmarks, financials, operational data, facilities data, etc.

13. How do we get started with predictive analytics? Does One AI provide pre-programmed predictive features that can be used to predict talent outcomes?
Yes. Similar to the out of the box set of metrics, One Model can deploy a set of pre-programmed predictive features which can then be customized to meet your specific needs. In addition to our out-of-the-box predictive capability, if you have a data science team, One AI provides a comprehensive toolkit to build sophisticated models using well known machine learning, statistical, and data science tools built for fast time to value and built to scale.

14. How can One Model help me improve retention?
There are two major capabilities that One Model provides to help understand and improve employee retention (among hundreds of other key people management issues).
Organization & segmentation: One Model provides you with clean, accurate data blended from multiple sources to understand all you can about your workforce and the variability across different employment groups (e.g. locations, business units, job roles, demographic segments). Understanding variability and matching this to business outcomes is step one in really understanding your company and your people.
Machine learning: One Model provides advanced, transparent, organizational specific, employee-level attrition risk models. In fact, our ability to quickly deliver on predictive analytics for attrition is often a key element in building the business case for people analytics. A high level estimate of the savings from attrition can be calculated by looking at a few factors like your baseline turnover rate, model performance, and average salary. Our transparent, employee-level approach transforms the data into actionable, measurable results. With One AI you can identify drivers for change and assess the potential impact of interventions.
-
15. How can One Model help me incorporate predictive analytics?
One Model’s One AI machine learning tool set allows you to create, deploy, and maintain customized predictive models for the organizational outcomes that matter to you. We have standard models we can deploy, such as employee level attrition risk, but organizations can also create customized models for their own specific outcomes. One Model allows you to model output and employee level predictions and is transparent, meaning you don’t have to rely on a vendor provided, proprietary “black box” prediction.

16. We are transitioning software products, how can One Model help?
One Model can store all your historical data in our data warehouse and bring in the data from the new software platform when purchased. This way you will have all your data together in one place regardless of which software platform you currently use. Multiple source systems can be modeled together to give a consistent global view across all this data even though they come from different sources. One Model can also assist in the implementation of the new software platform by organizing the data for movement into the new system. The data can be cleansed, positioned, and loaded into the new software through our toolsets.
