The One Model Team

When you need answers fast, you shouldn’t have to tap a teammate, log into another tool, or file a ticket. Now you don’t. SQL Explorer puts your data right at your fingertips, inside the platform you already use.

SQL Explorer gives technical users the freedom to write and run read-only SQL queries directly within One Model. You get visibility into your data without you – or your data – leaving the platform.

Whether you're validating data pipelines, investigating issues, or just exploring your data, SQL Explorer makes it faster, easier, and safer to do it yourself. This isn’t just for power users. It’s a practical tool for analysts, admins, and anyone who needs to understand what’s really going on under the hood.

What You Can Do with SQL Explorer

We’re not trying to replace your local IDE. SQL Explorer is here to remove the blockers between you and your data.

You can:

  • Write custom SQL queries against your own environment
  • Run quick checks to validate data post-ingest or post-processing
  • Explore table contents without touching the Processing Script
  • Answer ad hoc questions, no middleperson required

Need to debug or investigate a metric? A targeted SELECT can tell you more in 10 seconds than a ticket will in 10 hours.

"I think SQL Explorer is an exceptional tool; it's a lifesaver for me."

Debalina Chakraborty, Data Scientist at Danaher

Built for Speed, Flow & Focus

Every detail is designed to keep you in flow:

  • Run queries instantly with a keyboard shortcut
  • Toggle autocomplete on or off
  • Tab your  results  and compare multiple query results
  • Highlight + execute functionality to run only what you select
  • Find tables and fields with searchable schema navigation

You don’t need to switch tabs, chase down credentials, or fiddle with boundary tools. SQL Explorer is right there in your platform, available when you need it.

Secure by Design

We know SQL access inside a cloud platform can make people nervous. That’s why SQL Explorer is read-only, scoped to your environment, and governed by permission settings. You get control without compromising security.

Here’s how we keep it safe:

  • No access to restricted schemas or system tables
  • All activity is logged and auditable
  • Access is controlled through permissions— you decide who sees what
  • All SQL Statements are parsed and checked before running on the Database
  • Use Redshift security to restrict Tables so users can’t access restricted data

It’s the same infrastructure that powers One Model’s core, so it’s just as reliable, load-balancing, and secure.  We also enforce smart limits behind the scenes. Queries that exceed runtime thresholds won’t hang the system. Everything is built to scale, even during peak loads. With SQL Explorer, you don’t sacrifice control for security. You get both.

What’s Next?

This first release lays the groundwork for even more flexibility. We’re building SQL Explorer to evolve with your needs. And as always, we’re listening — your feedback shapes what’s coming next.
